This document describes the Northwestern University algorithm for extracting valid basal lipid values from the electronic medical record (EMR). Comprehensive documentation of the algorithm can be found here. The documentation includes instructions for installing executable versions of the algorithm, implemented as a workflow for the Konstanz Information Miner (KNIME) data mining tool.
