eMERGE GIRA Data Refresh - Spring 2025

The eMERGE Network GIRA data for the Spring 2025 refresh will be collected using this PheKB page (phenotype 1720). There will be 9 total data dictionaries (Person, Measurement, Drug Exposure, BMI, ICD, CPT, Visit, Orders, and Referrals) uploaded to PheKB and each data file uploaded by sites will go through an automatic QC against its respective DD by PheKB to inform of any errors. This will allow sites to ensure the cleanest data is being sent to the CC and minimize efforts by both the sites and the CC to continue editing the data files. All data files along with a quality control checklist submitted by each site is due to this PheKB page by Monday, June 2, 2025.

Data Pull Notes:

• The list of all eMERGE IDs, along with withdrawal status, are attached to this PheKB page.
• Please only include this list of IDs in the data pull files.
• As a reminder, the site-specific IDs are indicated by the first 2 numbers of the ID.
• The attached implementation guide is separated by data dictionary and has a bulleted list of what the CC QC check will look for with regard to errors.
• Please also upload the attached site checklist with data files with boxes checked for quality control. 
• Please only pull labs and meds from the lists attached.
• As a reminder, medications will be pulled using RxClass instead of a full meds list.
• Remove all codes on the redaction list attached from the ICD and CPT data files that are sent back to the CC (please pay close attention to the notes provided for many of the codes on the redaction spreadsheet).

PheKB Notes:

• When uploading data files to PheKB, please click on the 'Implementations/Datasets' tab and click 'Upload a New Implementation' and make sure your site name is in the title. This will allow all files to be separated by site on the PheKB page.
• It is very important that all data files from all sites are titled using format: Site_DataType_Date (example: VUMC_Person_20250624) and as .csv files. The date will allow for proper version control as edited files are added to the PheKB page.
• We will utilize the comment function that can be found at the bottom of the front page of the PheKB page. Everyone with access to the page will be able to add and see the comments and responses. We can discuss the questions and comments that arise as a group during phenotyping workgroup calls as well.
